We’re grateful for the Good Home Auction

We’re incredibly grateful to have been included in The Advertiser Foundation’s Good Home Auction at Oakden, made possible through the generosity of Weeks Homes and Villawood Properties, and supported by a community that came together to create meaningful impact for South Australian children and young people.

The fully furnished Good Home sold under the hammer for $973,000, with proceeds shared among participating charities. As part of this initiative, the Sammy D Foundation received $150,000, funding that will directly support violence prevention education for young people across our communities.

The auction day itself was filled with energy, optimism, and a strong sense of shared purpose. From the families who attended to the supporters behind the scenes, the event reflected a collective commitment to making a positive difference beyond the day.

For the Sammy D Foundation, this support will help us continue delivering education that equips young people with the skills to navigate bullying, violence, and alcohol and other drug related harm. It also supports our ability to reach more schools and communities, including regional and remote areas, where access to prevention education can make a lasting difference.

We’d like to sincerely thank The Advertiser Foundation, Weeks Homes, and Villawood Properties, along with everyone involved in bringing the Good Home to life, from planning through to auction day. We’re also grateful to the successful bidder, whose generosity has helped turn a single moment into ongoing, long-term impact for young people across our state.

Opportunities like this strengthen our work and remind us that preventing harm is a shared responsibility. We’re proud to have been part of the Good Home Auction and thankful for the community support that continues to make this work possible.
